  1. Melia,

Your website is lovely even in its infancy. Can’t wait to see where your writing journey takes you.

‘scuse me. I have to go eat some strawberries now–your header is making my mouth water. Probably too early in the morning for champagne, especially as I have line edits to do.

    best,
    Cathryn

  2. Thanks for stopping by, Cathryn!

Have fun with line edits — I’d drink a glass of champagne for you but I probably wouldn’t make it to Mass this morning if I did. 🙂

    Happy writing,
    Melia

  3. Looks good so far. See if you can get the “search” box deleted out of the header and put it under the “follow” button.

  4. I wholeheartedly agree with Cathryn — about your lovely website AND the strawberries. Yum! Good thing they’re not dipped in chocolate or I’d already be at the supermarket right now, hunting some down.

Best wishes to you, sweetheart! Keep up the great work.

    xo,
    Kristina

When I googled your name, I got a luxury boutique hotel in Paris near the Eiffel tower — Did you know they named a hotel after you? Lovely website! Happy writing and publishing, Meta, your fellow (long distance) Rose

  6. Melia, Congratulations on taking a momentous step! Love your header photo!

I love the clean, easy to read look, with that dash of sassy and sexy. Strawberries are always soooooo sexy. You did a great job on this. Enjoy!

  8. Hi, Terri!

I tried to get rid of the search box thingy (technical term) which was partly why I was yelling at the screen. I think it’s the way this particular “theme” is set up. I did shorten the tag and it seems to work better.

By the way, I so appreciate your words of wisdom. They sure helped me take that first step! Oh, fine. So I was really shoved in. . .. And the water was freezing. . .. but at least I’m finally here!

    Happy writing,
    Melia

  9. Kristina, you’re the best!

Thank you for being so supportive, and for being such an inspiration. On occasion, I do drink a coffee toast to you as I write — and then I find myself extremely grateful that I’m a 4 AM kind of girl instead of the ungodly hours you get up! Oh, what we do for our craft. . .. 🙂

    Happy writing,
    Melia

  10. Hi, Meta!

Yes, I know. Wasn’t that nice of them? The interior is lovely, too! I think it’d be so much fun to stay there on my next trip to Paris. Hmmm . . .now there’s a thought. . .. 🙂

Happy writing (and thanks for the brilliant suggestion – at least, that’s what I plan to tell Hubby!),

  11. Thank you, Sarah!

This wasn’t easy for me to do – I sweated the whole thing for a LONG time. And banged my head a lot as I tried to figure out the mechanics of web creation. . .. but that’s another story!

    Happy writing,
    Melia

  12. Maggie, thank you!

I’m really pleased with how the photo came out – you would have laughed at how many shots I took before I got this one. That’s photo shots, not the kind that comes in little glasses! 😉

    Happy writing,
    Melia

Melia – what a melodious name! The website is beautiful and classic. Very you. No one will ever come here and think, hmmm, I wonder if she knits 🙂 Looking forward to all the good things to come. You’re an inspiration!

  14. Good morning, Meredith!

You crack me up, girl! So glad you approve. 🙂

Happy writing (because I KNOW you’re writing),
    Melia

  15. Hi Melia,

I’m trying again to post a comment on your lovely site. I absolutely adore it. It’s simple, clean, uncluttered, and stylish. I also love your author tag line. I can’t wait to see what happens next for you. You’re such a dedicated writer. You should be published very soon! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you.

  16. Vonnie, thank you!

I’m not sure what was harder, taking the plunge or stewing about it for the longest time. Regardless, here I am, world!

    Happy writing,
    Melia

    Melia,
Very classy site and yes, love the strawberries. Reminds me of lazy summer days. Perserverance and persistence is the key along with an imagination that has no bounds. You have all of that and more. Love your smile. Great to see you at the Intensive.

  18. Hi, Ashlyn!

Perseverance and persistence — so key to success in this business, huh? Thanks for the vote of confidence. I swear, if it weren’t for my fellow Roses, I think I’d have been inclined to give up a long time ago! But who am I kidding? It would only be a matter of time before I started to make stuff up again. . ..

I learned a ton at the Intensive. Wasn’t Larry Brooks great?

    Happy writing,
    Melia

    Melia,
I’ll second that on the strawberries and the wine glass. Lovely colors. This looks great. Sorry, I missed meeting you at the Intensive (I attended last year’s). 🙂
    Susan

  20. Thank you, Susan! Overall, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Just trying to figure out all the rules, you know? Although a part of me wonders why – I’ll probably end up breaking a few. . .. 😉

    Hugs and happy writing,
    Melia
