Wordless Wednesday: Bikini Weather

Welcome to Wordless Wednesday! (Although I’ve pretty much given up on the “wordless” part.)

My last post was, admittedly, an old one I’d done about my mom, this being her birth month and all.  So it got me to thinking about Guam – the island where I grew up.  I remember seemingly endless days of sunshine and warm tropical breezes whispering through the palm trees. . .. Total bikini weather!

Can you feel it now?  🙂

So, writer peeps, what scene or story idea does this photo inspire in your muse?  Please share!

Wordless Wednesday: A Manly Man

Welcome to Wordless Wednesday!

I’ve been walking down memory lane the past few days, and came across this photo of one of my best dude friends – who, by the way, was featured in my very first blog ever.

Hubby and I were at the beginning of a home remodeling project a few years ago and we recruited some friends to help us move out while the work was being done.  Of course, Dude-friend was more than happy to volunteer!

IMG_0948Writer peeps, what story scene could you come up with that’s worthy of such a manly man?

And just in case you’re wondering, yeah, he’s single.  😉

Happy writing,

Bennett’s World

Bennett Charles, my middle cat, is amazing.  He loves attention, both giving and receiving it.  P1140465Doesn’t matter that I’m rushed to get out the door to the day job or that I’m struggling with writing a difficult scene but have just about got it right.  Oh, no.  He’s going to make sure his peeps remember we live in his world.  🙂

As I tackled my WIP this week with him draped over one arm as I typed – seriously – I realized he’s been teaching me a lesson all this time.  Persistence gains results.  P1140297For instance, no matter how many times I close the door to my office, he doesn’t take “no” for an answer.  He bangs on that sucker until I capitulate and let him in.  Like now.  *Sigh*

I’ve received multiple rejections from publishers over the years (what writer hasn’t?), and Bennett’s lesson this week really hit home.  Gotta stay persistent. . ..Gotta stay the course. . . ..Gotta keep honing craft to become a better writer.  Cuz if you don’t keep knocking, no one will know you’re there.

Happy writing!

Wordless Wednesday: Smile!

Welcome back to Wordless Wednesday!

One of the things I love about summer are the fairs that take place in our area.  And while the food, and the rides, and eating just before a ride (not recommended, by the way) are a huge part of going to the fair, my favorite is visiting the aminals.  (That’s a deliberate misspelling, and a nod to my sister, who visited the fair for the first time this year! 🙂 )

Anywho, today’s Wordless Wednesday pic is from our county fair:

So, writer peeps, what do you suppose is going through this little guy’s head?

Wordless Wednesday: Through the Forest

Welcome to another Wordless Wednesday!

I love summer, mainly because with the warmer weather comes the opportunity to commune with the great outdoors.  And in my part of the world, there’s plenty of it – like this jewel:

P1030113So, my fellow writing peeps, whether you’re writing contemporary romance, romantic suspense, or historical romance, what does your muse think of this setting?  Is it something that’s useable in your WIP?

Raising a glass to our muses, without whom we’d struggle through our manuscripts. . . in my case, even worse than I do now!  🙂

Happy writing,

Wordless Wednesday: Another Path

It’s Wordless Wednesday!  Welcome and thanks for stopping by.

There’s a wide bike/pedestrian path that winds its way along a river near where I live.  It’s well used, particularly in the summer time, and perhaps that’s why the woman in the photo below chose to follow this route.

But what if she had another reason?  What do you think it would be?  Is she the heroine in your story?  Is she delivering a ransom?  Does she just want to be alone?  If so, why visit a park where there’s always people around?

Get your creative juices flowing and share your thoughts, please!  Better yet, my writer peeps, get back to your WIP.  Now.  Seriously.  Unless, of course, you’ve figured out how to get your story to write itself! 😉
