Wordless Wednesday: If Rooms Could Talk

Welcome to Wordless Wednesday!

One of the coolest things about having family come to visit is the obligatory tour of nearby attractions.  You know, the ones you don’t bother seeing because they’re “always there.”  Well, I’m guilty of that, anyway!

This was in one of the old homes we’d toured while my sister was here a few months ago.  I don’t write historical romance, but I did have to wonder what kinds of conversations might have taken place in this room.

Writing peeps, what do you think?

Wordless Wednesday: On the River’s Edge

Welcome back to Wordless Wednesday!

I was at a friend’s home a while ago and this was the scene out of her back yard:

P1120845La Muse spun off in different directions with scene possibilities that ranged from illicit hot sex to someone getting offed in a not so pleasant way – not that there is a pleasant way. . .. And, yeah, she’s a bit strange, huh? 🙂

Okay, writer peeps, what do you all think might happen here?

Happy writing!

Wordless Wednesday: Holding Hands

Welcome to Wordless Wednesday!

Call me a hopeless romantic, but I do love a happily-ever-after story.  And, yeah, I tend to look for evidence that it exists – just like in this photo:

DSC_1814Romantic, huh?  *Insert sigh*

Okay, writer peeps, kick your muses into gear!  What do you think their conversation would be in this setting?  🙂

Happy writing,

Wordless Wednesday: Smile!

Welcome back to Wordless Wednesday!

One of the things I love about summer are the fairs that take place in our area.  And while the food, and the rides, and eating just before a ride (not recommended, by the way) are a huge part of going to the fair, my favorite is visiting the aminals.  (That’s a deliberate misspelling, and a nod to my sister, who visited the fair for the first time this year! 🙂 )

Anywho, today’s Wordless Wednesday pic is from our county fair:

So, writer peeps, what do you suppose is going through this little guy’s head?

Wordless Wednesday: Through the Forest

Welcome to another Wordless Wednesday!

I love summer, mainly because with the warmer weather comes the opportunity to commune with the great outdoors.  And in my part of the world, there’s plenty of it – like this jewel:

P1030113So, my fellow writing peeps, whether you’re writing contemporary romance, romantic suspense, or historical romance, what does your muse think of this setting?  Is it something that’s useable in your WIP?

Raising a glass to our muses, without whom we’d struggle through our manuscripts. . . in my case, even worse than I do now!  🙂

Happy writing,

Wordless Wednesday: Coastal Living

Welcome to Wordless Wednesday!

I love meandering through small coastal towns.  There’s something about the crashing waves and the smell of the ocean that refreshes my soul.  On a recent trip, I captured this:

DSC_1360For my writer peeps, what comes to your mind?  Is this where a story takes place, or back story? What would it be about?  A hero/heroine who grew up there and wanted nothing to do with it but is forced to return?  Why?  What about his/her past makes it so hard or easy to return?  Does he/she end up staying?

Hope your muses continue to stay fueled up and ready to roll!

Wordless Wednesday: Fresh from the Garden

Welcome to Wordless Wednesday!

Those who know me best realize what a victory it is that I can actually grow something edible out of the garden.  Seriously.  Plants and stuff need lots of attention – namely, water, and sometimes a shot of fertilizer.  I don’t always remember either of those, but I’m getting better.  🙂  And here’s the evidence:

IMAG0741For my romance-writing peeps, does your hero or heroine love gardening as much as I do? *Snort*  Or does that distinction belong to another character in your story?  If a lone tomato is produced, what would he/she think about it?  (I personally think my loner is a big deal! 🙂 )

Happy writing,

Melia

Wordless Wednesday: Another Path

It’s Wordless Wednesday!  Welcome and thanks for stopping by.

There’s a wide bike/pedestrian path that winds its way along a river near where I live.  It’s well used, particularly in the summer time, and perhaps that’s why the woman in the photo below chose to follow this route.

But what if she had another reason?  What do you think it would be?  Is she the heroine in your story?  Is she delivering a ransom?  Does she just want to be alone?  If so, why visit a park where there’s always people around?

Get your creative juices flowing and share your thoughts, please!  Better yet, my writer peeps, get back to your WIP.  Now.  Seriously.  Unless, of course, you’ve figured out how to get your story to write itself! 😉
